Understanding about Pilates

Many people hear the term Pilates and immediately associated with a strenuous exercise program that they might see at their local gym. While there are certainly plenty of classes available for Pilates, what many people are not aware of is that Pilates was originally started as a rehabilitation program to assist soldiers that had been injured during the war in the early part of the twentieth century. The focus of Pilates is to strengthen your core and core muscles and this, in turn, will help to strengthen the rest of your body. The exercises and movements you do will provide you with stronger abdominal muscles, a stronger back, and greater flexibility.
